I don’t play much versus but in the current solo event I found some love for my Dragonite deck again, with modifications from the current expansions. Pichu can make a Dragonite ready for attack by round 5 if the stars align. If not it can help ready Ho-Oh for stalling.
Pokemon: Ho-Oh, 2x Pichu, 2x Dratini, Dragonite, Dragonite Ex
Items: Potion, X-Speed, 2x Pokeball, 2x Rare Candy, Elemental Switch
Supporter: 2x Professor’s Research, Leaf, Irida, Pokemon Center Lady, Lillie
I’m not really happy with Dragonite Ex because it can only attack every other turn. I’d rather swap it for a regular Dragonite if I had another one. I’m not dead set on all the trainer cards either and still experimenting.
It’s probably not the best competitive deck but it’s a fun one.
I like decks with less straight forward mechanics, like attacking benched Pokemon (or the most recent version Gyarados but I still have to experiment with that one). It’s why I have a soft spot for Alcremie too, because it looks cute and harmless but will go absolutely nuclear after ~5 attacks of Sweets Relay. xD
You can also combine your dragonites with a Oricorio. Since most opponents play with ex cards, putting the Oricorio in front will give you all the time you need to set up your dragonite on the bench.

Luxray from Mega Rising, can deal 110 damage but deal one of your Benched Pokémon by 20. I also add Emolga for early aggro but they are the same with Luxray. With Furfruo’s ability, it can withstand the damage taken from either Luxray or Emolga. Volkner can recycle your Lightning Energy to Luxray.
This deck’s main strategy revolves around setting up * Luxray as quickly as possible to leverage its Flash Impact’ attack, dealing significant damage while spreading damage to your bench. Use Luxio to evolve from shinx, and utilize Rare Candy to skip directly to Luxray when possible.
& Emolga and shinx can be used early to apply pressure with low-cost attacks. Supporters like Volkner can recycle Lightning Energy from the discard pile to Luxray, ensuring consistent energy supply. Cyrus can disrupt opponents by forcing damaged Pokémon into the active spot, setting them up for Luxray’s powerful attacks
Focus on evolving to Luxray quickly, maintaining energy flow, and strategically managing bench damage.
love these little guys they’re pretty cool
