Deluxe Pack MEGA %

Is there a plan for this to be re-enabled? I know there was some weirdness in the past with the deluxe pack for year 1, so I understand if this won’t be implemented, but it would be nice to know so I can be judicious with my hourglasses.

Here’s to more years!

If this is implemented again, could there be a toggle option to enable/disable it from view instead of removing it?

I’m working on code to add this! However, because foils have a different probability from their non-foil counterparts, it creates some mess around whether they are treated the same in other situations.

In the meantime, if you’re code-savvy, you can check out that pull request on the github and run it yourself in a dev environment to get a probability.

Otherwise, if you just want to approximate it yourself, here’s the general idea I’d use. If you’re hunting for ◊ or ◊◊, I would just go for the other packs, so we’ll ignore those in this calculation. You can also omit any other one you don’t “care about” (i.e. if you’re foil hunting, you can focus just on that percentage). Also when counting up the number of missing cards of a type, remember you can also just do the total number of that type minus what you have (this is particularly useful for foils).

For the third card in the pack, there’s 166 foil cards and a 50% chance to draw one in a pack, so ((# of missing foils)/166 x 0.5) is the chance of getting a new foil and ((# of missing nonfoil ◊◊◊)/30 x .34) is the chance to get ◊◊◊. There’s an additional 2.143% chance per ☆ and around 3% for anything more valuable (I’m going to assume we all have very few of those). So ((# of missing foils)/166 x 0.5) + ((# of missing nonfoil ◊◊◊)/30 x .34) + (.0214 * (# of missing ☆) + 0.03 = chance of new in third card.

For the fourth card in the pack, (0.01419 x # of missing ◊◊◊◊) is the chance of getting a new ◊◊◊◊.

Then you can combine these by doing 1 - ((1 - (chance of new in third card)) x (1 - chance of new in fourth card)) to get the probability.
