Various bugs and concerns; a suggestion

  1. I currently have -2 (negative 2) oddish. I don’t know how, I tried to play around to reproduce it but I actually started with -1 oddish and now I have -2. I think I just managed to break it but I am not sure it’s the way it happened originally: I increased a card number (it was zero, became 1), then I pressed F5 to reload page, then I went to overview and back to collection (why? see point 2.) and now I have negative 1 Caterpie.
  2. When I press F5 (reload browser page) on TCG Pocket Collection Tracker it looks like my whole collection becomes all 0 (no cards owned). On the other hand, if I go to Overview then back to Collection it seems to load and and so it is clearly preserved but not shown after F5.
  3. The infobar “844 selected, 1 uniques owned, -1 total owned” doesn’t seem to update when I press + on a card, but is updated when I go away and come back (to overview and back to collection).

I suspect some of the weirdness (1.) could be happening due to server updating it wrong somehow. Some PTCGP site trackers seem to be fully local, no account needed (but they have other cons which made me go looking for alternatives such as this one). I think that personally to me such approach is nice because it’s less confusing to me, feels more reliable or robust, and doesn’t require an account. The no account requirement is what I would see in an ideal PTCGP tracker site/app and I would want it, and suggest it, even if there were no bugs present.

Otherwise, the site looks pretty nice and clean, up-to-date and even FOSS. Thanks.

Hi, thanks for the feedback.

Regarding your points, I can’t reproduce that, so I’m not sure how that happened in your account. I don’t think it happens more often, since this is the first report I’ve seen. Of course we fix it, as soon as we have something reproducible.

We choose to add an account for various reason, most importantly:

  1. It should work between laptop and mobile. Most card tracking is done on mobile switching between the game/screenshot/app, but most trading or adding large amounts of cards is done on a desktop. Both should always be in sync across devices.
  2. Public collection pages. We just introduced this, but we always wanted to be able to show each other your collection in an easy way.
  3. Setting up trades, this is the next thing on our list (we be launched soon). Based on a public collection compared to your own collection we will immediately tell you which cards are possible to trade between the two accounts.
  4. Finally, based on an ‘active trading’ toggle, we’ll show a list of public collection links of people that you can set up trades with.

All of these things require an account.
