Trading page changes

I made an option to activate/deactivate your trading page on demand. You can use this to disable your trading page in case you run out of trading tokens. Because of this change, everyone that already had a trading page needs to go update the setting to activate your trading page. You can reach your trading page either via the button on the trade page or the edit profile dialog.

On top of that, you can now also set the number of cards you are willing to trade down to. The default is 1, since most people just want to collect one copy of each card, but in case you are deck building and want to collect multiple copies, you can set the number higher.

The next steps to implement will be:

  • Selecting the cards to trade and offer a trade. This will result in a notification email to both players with the trading information.
  • Active trading pages list. We’ll show a list of user with active trading pages (probably somewhere on the overview page or the trade page).

I really like the change, nevertheless assuming that I want to keep 2 cards or more of every single card is slightly wild.

The correct approach would be to be able to mark the cards that I am constantly asked for that I use for specific decks, that I am not willing to trade.

I also believe that it is harder to remember to keep activating and deactivating the page each time you run out of energy, It is much easier just to write in your post/chat that you are out of energy at the moment.

Some of the things that probably needs to be taken into consideration is that there will be probably a userbase that is no longer updating the cards, and left the site… So it would be a waste of resources to try to contact them about trades, altough hopefully the email makes them to want to come back. I believe that it could be hard to implement, but adding some tracking of the last update made on their cards numbers could give the users a better idea on who is actively tracking the cards, and who actually is looking forward to complete trades… Just a list of all the possible trading users could be long, and ineffective, Probably keep it for only users actively updating their cards for the last 5 days or something? Specially great if it is ordereded by last time updating their cards…

Some other sites use a pay to be in the beginning of the chart or recommended trades lists…

Some users may want to have that priority.

Thanks for all the efforts, they are very welcomed and appreciated

When I click other person’s link, it should use this selection from my own page, currently the “Minimum number of cards” on others person’s page is problematic in that it A) isn’t “number of cards you are willing to trade down to” so have to think differently / do different # than when setting your own page, and B) should just sync with the selection on your own page.
