Sometimes when i want to trade cards, a majority of them I don’t care too much about only having 1 of, but for others it would be nice to keep them for a deck, so to be able to set a custom limit of minimum 3 cards (for those specific cards) where it will only show them if you have minimum 3 cards, even if the setting is set to minimum 2 (for trading purposes). Possibly a button to enable/disable this viewing.
This would be especially useful for those using the “copy to clipboard” function where they wouldnt need to delete all of the ones that they only have 2 of but would like to keep for decks.
This is my suggestion on how to implement this: (inspired by the user below).
It would be nice to possibly have a way to tag cards manually. A couple of the tags could be tags that directly interact with the trading tab (such as “minimum cards x”, where you input a variable (which if you put 3 as the variable would only show in the trading feature if you have 3+ cards, even if you chose minimum 2 in the trading tab), or “never display” (which would never show the card in the trading tab, regardless of what you have)). Then there could be custom tags, which essentially act as lists (that you of course can rename). You could tag cards to, in practicality, add it to a list. Then, in the trading tab, you could “filter” by tags in a drop down menu similar to the rarity filter. Essentially, let’s say we have the 4 tags “Minimum 3”, “List A”, “List B”, and “Never display”. Lets pretend we have pokemon tagged like this:
Charmander (2): Minimum 3, List A
Squirtle (3): Minimum 3, List A, List B
Bulbasaur (2): List B
Pikachu (4): Never display
“Minimum 3” and “Never display” are not shown in the drop down menu, but act in the background.
If I searched for Minimum 2 along with the list tag “List A”, only squirtle would appear. Charmander does not have enough cards. However, if i were to get another card, it would show up in this search.
If i searched Minimum 2, List B, both squirtle and bulbasaur would appear. But if i were to change the search to minimum 3, then only squirtle would appear.
If you only searched the minimum 2 cards without list tags, squirtle and bulbasaur would appear. If you had gained another charmander card it would appear as well.
Pikachu would, of course, never appear.
This could work for cards you are looking for as well. There could be a tag such as “Looking for x” (where x would be the amount of cards you need. Assuming you put 2 in the variable, if you only have 1 of that card it would show in the looking for regardless. If you are, for example, looking for ghimmighoul, you could set “x” to 100, and never have to manually add it to the list manually). List tags can apply here as well.
Of course, it would be nice to be able to edit these tags in bulk. You create a tag, and then have the option to edit in bulk (which you can do at any time as well). And then you simply select the cards to apply the tag to. You can also specifically search for cards with these tags in your collection, either to edit them (lets say you change your mind on a tag “never display” and dont want to find it manually. While you don’t have to specifically choose the tag in the trading tab and it will work in the background, for the collection tab you can specifically choose these kind of tags) or to just to maybe organize certain cards in tags.
I believe this feature would be immensely useful to people with several different ways of using the site, and with what seems like a fairly simple implementation. One example I can think of is to create a list with cards for a specific deck you want, and then being able to use the “Looking for x” and the specific list to only show “looking for” to be the cards of the specific deck, in the amount you need. Or if you want to prioritize trading certain cards first, you can create a list for that. Or, like in my case, hold on to 2 copies of a card i want for decks without needing to manually edit the clipboard.
